Foodie Friday: Naked Juice Green Machine

I hadn’t had a detox in about two years and was looking for something a bit radical but practical. When I came across Jason Vale’s 7 day juice detox I liked the sound. I needed a new juicer anyway so here was the opportunity. I got a Phillips juicer as recommended in the book then did all the shopping.

One of the easiest juices to put together was called Super Juice. The ingredients were easy to find and it was delicious. So, when I felt a bit under the weather last week as I walked to town I decided to grab a drink at Sainsbury’s.

I spotted a bottle called ‘naked juice’ in the chilled drinks section. The ingredients looked similar to Jason Vale’s super juice except for mango, kiwi and banana. However, the Apples, Pineapple and Spirulina sent me back to my detox days.

I’ve put the recipe for Jason Vale’s super juice below if you want to give it a go otherwise just look out for this bottle in the chilled drinks section of Sainsbury’s or Waitrose (apologies for the cosmetic clutter):

Jason Vale Super Juice Recipe

½ lime – peeled Apples – any except Granny Smiths as they are just plain wrong for juicing

¼ pineapple

¼ medium cucumber

¼ ripe avocado

1 teaspoon wheatgrass

1 tsp spirulina

1 capsule acidophillus
